About me
Having worked in the fields of marketing and corporate communications for more than a decade, I have seen first-hand the transformation of the way in which we market and communicate. I have helped a variety of corporations with the implementation of these new marketing and communications strategies and tactics, specifically in the information services field, with substantial results in terms of marketing ROI. I am a strong believer in the positive, transformative impact these new communications strategies can have on corporate revenues, cultures and reputations.
My expertise includes the blending of social media marketing with more traditional marketing methods; web marketing; and international branding and marketing. The general focus is always on the maximization of revenue and profitability via marketing initiatives. I have done consulting work for a variety of Fortune 500 firms, including P&G, BMW, Cisco Systems, NEC, HP, EDS and Koc Holding while working for a number of corporate reputation measurement firms.
I am a regular contributor to online publications such as Think.com and PR News.
Born in the Netherlands, I have lived and worked in half a dozen countries throughout my career, but the US has been my home for most of the last 25 years. The majority of that time was spent on the East Coast and the Mid-West, but recently I have moved to northern California, and I now live in the Bay Area.
Traveling is one of my passions. I have spent many months off the beaten track in locations such as Nepal, Turkey and Mexico, soaking up nature and culture, and getting to know the locals. I speak a variety of languages.
